Breakout candidate: Paolo Banchero

After a good first season in the NBA in which he won Rookie of the Year honors, he’s far from his ceiling as a player. This season, there’s hope that he can emerge as a true star in the league as he looks to take the Orlando Magic to new heights. With as well as he played during his rookie season, with the high ceiling that he has, it’s not that outlandish to believe that Banchero could play his way toward being the new face of the franchise for the Magic – if he’s not already there yet.

But that’s how talented Banchero is. Banchero has great size at 6-foot-10 and is one of the most athletic frontcourt players in the NBA. Already a three-level scorer, there isn’t much that Banchero can’t do on the offensive end of the floor. If he can continue to make strides on both ends of the floor, there’s nothing holding him back from emerging as a superstar in the future.

The Magic found a good one in Banchero. As a breakout candidate heading into the start of the season, he’s certainly a player to keep an eye on this year.
