DeMar DeRozan, Chicago Bulls
In the final year of his contract with the Chicago Bulls, it’s only natural to assume that DeMar DeRozan could emerge as a potential NBA Trade Deadline candidate. Add in the fact that the Bulls and DeRozan haven’t made much strides in contract extension talks, and there’s a very real chance that DeRozan could end up being traded at some point soon. Especially if the Bulls continue to struggle with their overall consistency.
A team with players as talented as DeRozan and Zach LaVine should probably be better than what the Bulls have been over the past couple of seasons. However, for a few reasons, this is a team that has consistently left much to be desired. The next few weeks will be crucial for the Bulls and will tell us a lot about how they’ll likely explore the trade deadline.
If they do end up making a trade or two, DeRozan is probably on the shortlist of players that they’d benefit from trading first. If it does come to that, the Philadelphia 76ers could very much benefit from taking a flier on a talent veteran like DeRozan.
