The Miami Heat have grown stale

Missing out on Damian Lillard and Bradley Beal, it’s safe to say that the Miami Heat had the worst offseason imaginable. And over the first couple of weeks of the season, Miami hasn’t done anything to change the tune of their forgettable offseason.

The Heat is 4-5, Tyler Herro is hurt, and Jimmy Butler may already be showing signs of real regression. There’s little upside for this team’s core and I’m not sure there’s a move out there that will change the disappointment that this team has carried into the regular season. There’s a very good chance that we’ve seen the best of this core.

Could Miami make things interesting in a potential playoff series? Sure. However, at this moment, I’m not even sure the Heat is going to be consistent enough to earn a playoff spot in the competitive East. Even at their peak, though, I’m not sure this team has enough firepower to dethrone the likes of the Milwaukee Bucks or Boston Celtics in a seven-game series.

Verdict: Buy
