The Minnesota Timberwolves are…good

Similar to the Sacramento Kings last season, it appears that there’s another Western Conference dark horse beginning to emerge. Through the first handful of games of the season, the Minnesota Timberwolves appear to be a potential West team that is taking a step forward. The Wolves are 6-2 and already have a huge signature win over the Denver Nuggets earlier this season.

The most interesting part of the Wolves’ early-season success is the fact that they’re doing it on the defensive end of the floor. The Wolves are the best team in the league on defense and Rudy Gobert is leading the way on that front. He looks more like the player the Wolves thought they were getting when they made the blockbuster trade for him last season, and it’s paid dividends for the team.

The question is, are they for real? Considering the talent they have on their roster, it’s hard to doubt them right now.

Verdict: Buy
