10. Portland Trail Blazers (via Golden State) - D.J. Wagner, G, Kentucky
With the Golden State Warriors struggling to start the season, there's all of a sudden a shot that the Portland Trail Blazers end up with two lottery picks in the 2024 NBA Draft. There's a belief that the Warriors will figure things out sooner or later, similar to the way they did toward the end of the last season, but the Blazers would greatly benefit from an additional lottery pick if that's something that ends up happening.
After taking a frontcourt prospect with their first selection, perhaps they could take a flier on a guard with this pick. D.J. Wagner out of Kentucky could be a prospect that is selected in this range. Wagner, a 6-foot-4 guard, has already shown the ability to be a consistent scorer during his first few games at Kentucky.
However, it's his inconsistencies with his 3-point shot, decision-making, and defense that will make him a coinflip to either be taken in the lottery or fall into the middle of the first round. Either way, he's a prospect to watch heading into the thick of the draft season.
