NBA Trade Deadline target: DeMar DeRozan, Chicago Bulls
The Orlando Magic have been one of the bigger surprises in the Eastern Conference this season. Quite frankly, I'm not sure there are many who expected the Magic to be this good this soon. Some believed that the Magic were going to take a step forward this season but I'm not sure anyone expected the Magic to be top 6 in the conference good. Nevertheless, it appears the Magic may be closer to playoff contention than many believe.
If the Magic are this close to being a clear playoff contender in the East, perhaps this is the moment that they should make a big splash. If they get to a point before the NBA Trade Deadline where they believe that, there are a few targets that would make sense for the Magic. One that I would particularly love is the move for DeMar DeRozan.
DeRozan is a veteran star that could help take the Magic to new heights. Orlando has needed a veteran scorer to lean on and taking a gamble on DeRozan could make sense on that front. He's an expiring contract so it'd be more of a rental type of move. Would that be a worthy gamble for the Magic?
