As expected, the Washington Wizards have waived Shannon Brown Malcolm Lee and Kendall Marshall. The Wizards acquired the man they wanted, Marcin Gortat, and, essentially, decided just to dump the other guys.

They were acquired in a trade with the Phoenix Suns that brought Gortat to the Wizards in exchange for Emeka Okafor and a 2014 first-round draft pick.

Brown is a seven-year veteran combo guard, who averaged 10.5 points last season for the Suns. Marshall, a pass-first point guard, was the 13th pick of the 2012 NBA draft from North Carolina, but never really found a role on the Suns. Lee was a 2011 second-round pick and is fresh off knee surgery.

Word is that Brown could be headed back to LA, where he spent two-plus seasons earlier in his career.
