With Omer Asik moving to the bench, after the Twin Towers part 2 experiment failed, the 27-year-old center has asked to be traded, two individuals with knowledge of the request said late Thursday.

On Wednesday, Asik played only four minutes, none in the second half. According to reports, Asik has made the trade request in the last 48 hours.

So far, the Rockets have had no interest in trading Asik, however, people with knowledge of the situation believe that could change in the next few months.

Asik declined comment (according to the Houston Chronicle).

Asik is averaging 5.0 points and 7.2 rebounds per game so far this season. The Rockets play the Knicks tonight in New York.
