Brooklyn Nets: Jason Kidd fined $50,000 for shenanigans

The sly Brooklyn Nets head coach, Jason Kidd, tried to use a loophole in the NBA rule book to try and earn a bonus timeout during their game against the Los Angeles Lakers Wednesday night. The Nets would end up losing, and Kidd would come out looking foolish in the process. Who knew?

Apart from that alone, Kidd was also slapped with a hefty fine from NBA commissioner David Stern for his shenanigans.

His post game comments probably didn’t help his cause any, either.

“The cup slipped out of my hand,” Kidd said afterward. “I was getting tired. Sweaty palms. … In the heat of the battle you’re trying to get guys in and out of the game, and the coke fell out of my hand.”

Haha good one, coach.

In case you missed it, here is exactly what happened on Wednesday night:
