Amid the NFL’s Wildcard Weekend, the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Minnesota Timberwolves did the best they could to make sure you didn’t forget that basketball was still on. And the theatrics were as good as ever.

The Thunder stormed back in the second half to set the stage for drama. Tied at 111, with 20 seconds left, everyone in the building knew who was going to get the ball for OKC. However, you can’t stop the unstoppable. You can only hope to contain him (hi Dan Patrick). Enter Kevin Durant. Aka Durantula. Aka as cool as the other side of the pillow (H/T to Stuart Scott).

You know what happened. Durant drilled the faraway, step-back jumper to put the Thunder up 113-111. However, four seconds remained and the refs owed Kevin Love one (or so they say).

Love was “fouled” by Kendrick Perkins while attempting a game-winnning three-point attempt. Though, what happened next was clearly unexpected.

Love missed all three free throws (the last one on purpose) and the Thunder escaped with a 115-111 victory over the Timberwolves.

Hey, at least the Wolves didn’t blow a 28-point lead…right Kansas City?
