UPDATED:

Shortly after Tuesday’s night loss against the Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich wasted little time in declaring Manu Ginobili out for Wednesday night’s game against the Chicago Bulls.

“I can’t take that chance,” he said.

The good news is that the Spurs are describing it as hamstring “tightness” and it doesn’t sound overly severe. It appeared that Ginobili “pulled” or hurt his hamstring on a dunk attempt during the third quarter last night.

After dunking, Ginobili is clearly favoring his hamstring. He was pulled shortly after and did not return.

With Ginobili unavailable, expect a healthy amount of Marco Belinelli and perhaps Cory Joseph, Patty Mills and/or Nando De Colo.
