Memphis Grizzlies: Embracing a process of their own is already paying dividends

A closer look at the Memphis Grizzlies, one of the best up-and-coming teams
Former Philadelphia 76ers general manager Sam Hinkie became one of the most talked-about executives in NBA history due to “The Process,” a way of team building through tanking for lottery picks, but also some shrewd moves.
While at this point it is debatable to say if “The Process” actually worked, Memphis Grizzlies young executive Zach Kleiman seems to be taking a similar approach.
In a recent piece for The Ringer, D.J. Foster dropped a little exploration into the building of the Memphis Grizzles. Foster noted:
"[via The Ringer] The Grizzlies are tapping into the shrewd parts of Sam Hinkie’s Process that people tend to overlook because of the aggressive tanking: signing low-risk, high-upside fliers using cap space as a means to acquire draft capital; and flipping veterans in order to pick up more lottery tickets"
With this in mind let’s take a look at how Zach Kleiman is using these tactics and what it could mean for the Memphis Grizzlies and the NBA going forward.
