Boom In The Big Apple

Remember mid February? The Knicks gave up rookie Jordan Hill and 2 1st round picks for Tracy McGrady. The idea? Open up enough cap space to get 2 max level free agents.  Free agency came and went and the Knicks didn’t get the main prize in one- LeBron James.

All isn’t lost in the Big Apple.  The Knicks added Amar’e Stoudemire.  Stoudemire was arguably a top 5 player in the second half last season.  That along with his 24 and 9 career playoffs numbers are something the Knicks missed in the past 5 years. The Knicks also made a huge move in trading David Lee to Golden State for Anthony Randolph, Kelenna Azubkie and Ronny Turiaf. Randolph is seen as a high upside player who can produce inside next to Stoudemire, Azubkie is a solid shooting guard who averaged 10 points last season before getting injured and Turiaf is someone who could provide rebounds and strong inside defense. The biggest move? Raymond Felton. The Knicks struck a deal to add the former Tar Heel and Bobcat to run D’Antoni’s run and gun system. In Charlotte, he produced 2 7 assist seasons (2007 and 2008 seasons)

Knicks fans should be upset about being snubbed from LeBron, the roster and outlook for New York? I would dare call it bright.
