2 Trades: 7 players

Today, 2 trades were made in the NBA. The First was a 4 team, 5 player deal between Houston, New Jersey, Indiana and New Orleans. Here’s the deals ( former teams in bold

New Orleans gets: Trevor Ariza (Houston)

New Jersey gets: Troy Murphy (Indiana)

Houston gets: Courtney Lee ( New Jersey)

Indiana gets: Darren Collison and James Posey ( New Orleans)

I believe the Pacers won this deal and it’s not even close. The Pacers do give up a great rebounder in Murphy but they gain a young, playmaking point guard in Darren Collison and a bench player in James Posey.

Houston is confusing. They have Chase Budinger to slide into Ariza’s role but they already had Jermaine Taylor to be the backup shooting guard. They gain nothing from doing this deal to me.

The Second Deal was between Toronto and New Orleans

Toronto gets: Julian Wright

New Orleans gets: Marco Belinelli

Toronto gets Wright,  who probably needed this change of scenery. In New Orleans, he FAILED to impress the coaching staffs and could adjust to playing next to CP3. New Orleans won this deal for a couple reasons. One, Marco should increase his scoring because he will be playing a fast tempo with a legit point guard in Chris Paul. The second: He might get the 6th man role.  If he could remain healthy, Marco could be the rain man in New Orleans.

Agree, Disagree? I love to read comments. Thanks to Yardbarker for all the photo.
