Team: Cleveland Cavaliers
College: UNLV
Position: Small/power forward
Role: Bench player
Analysis: Who is Anthony Bennett? That is still the question that a lot of people ask, and that was the same question when the Cleveland Cavaliers made him the number one pick. Having just signed a four-year deal that could be worth up to $22.8 million, Bennett will have high expectations. So, who is he?
Listed at 6 foot, 8 inches, 240 pounds, Bennett is being compared to another UNLV star in Larry Johnson. Bennett averaged 16 points and 8 rebounds in his lone collegiate year. He will be asked to try and find his spot in the rotation with the Cavaliers having a huge load in the front court with Andrew Bynum, Earl Clark, Tristan Thompson, Tyler Zeller and Anderson Varejao.
The question remains if he will be healthy enough to get through a full season. Bennett suffered from a nagging shoulder while at UNLV, and the NBA load is sure to take its toll on him. The biggest challenge for him will be coming into training camp in shape.
If he plays to his talent, he should be able to get in the rotation and make a decent impact.
