According to ESPN’s Jeff Goodman, a deal has been competed that would send Phoenix Suns Marcin Gortat to Washington in exchange for Emeka Okafor and a protected 2014 NBA draft pick.

Marc Stein was first to report remnants of the trade.

The deal would also send Kendall Marshall, Shannon Brown and Malcolm Lee to the Wizards.

Gortat averaged 11.1 points and 8.5 rebounds for the Suns last season in 61 games. It would be interesting to see what kind of role he would receive in Washington. The Wizards already have NeNe up-front but there’s a chance that we could see a NeNe/Gortat front court combination. I guess we just have to wait and see.

The Suns now own four 1st round picks in a very loaded 2014 NBA draft. How did that happen?
