How in the world did we miss this from last night?
During the Houston Rockets, Memphis Grizzlies game, Dwight Howard and Marc Gasol got into a shoving match in the first quarter.
It all started when Gasol shoved Patrick Beverley out of his way on the block, Howard then came to his teammates’ aid and the following ensued:
By no means was it a boxing match, much less a UFC throw down, but I guess some action is better than no action…right?
I kinda like this emotion from Dwight, especially after coming off the type of season he did. It helps him win over some fans in Houston, but more importantly, it’ll help him win over the locker room. The fact that your teammate would step in for you is big, especially when that said teammate is new or trying to become the leader of the squad.
I know it doesn’t look like a big deal but I bet inside that locker room it was.
Don’t ask me who won that shoving match though. If it were possible, both looked like losers there. Also, I wonder how Howard would’ve reacted had this happened last season in LA. Interesting.
