J.R. Smith returned for the New York Knicks on Friday night against Charlotee Bobcats like only J.R. Smith could. By hitting a pull-up half court shot as the third quarter expired.
Who’s hoping that Smith does that celebration he did, after he hit the shot, after every three in the regular season? I know I am.
Smith scored 11 points and had three rebounds in 13 minutes.
Apart from Smith, Amar’e Stoudemire and Kenyon Martin also both made their preseason debuts for the Knicks. Stoudemire had six points on 3-of-4 shooting in 12 minutes. Martin had two points and one rebound in eight minutes.
I guess now we know that the trio is a go for the season opener on October 30 against the Milwaukee Bucks.
After the game, Stoudemire said that he felt strong and Smith said that when he returned he wanted to come back without any restrictions. I guess this means he won’t have any restrictions going forward?
