Oklahoma City Thunder: Russell Westbrook WILL play tonight

According to Darnell Mayberry, an Oklahoma City Thunder beat writer for The Oklahoman, Russell Westbrook will make his season debut tonight against the Phoenix Suns.

A few days ago, Adrian Wojnarowski had reported that Westbrook could potentially return in 14 days. I guess it was much sooner than that. It’s been five days since that report.

"[via Yahoo!]Oklahoma Thunder star Russell Westbrook has made significant progress in his recovery from a second surgical procedure on his knee and could return to the Thunder’s lineup within two weeks, league sources told Yahoo Sports….Westbrook began participating in Thunder practice sessions and has impressed everyone with his explosion and fast return to form, sources said."

Originally, it was thought that Westbrook would miss the first month of the season after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery. He beat that projected recovery time by a good three weeks. Amazing.
