Fox Sports Ohio is reporting that the Detroit Pistons will try and trade Rodney Stuckey and Charlie Villanueva, according to sources.
Both Stuckey and Villanueva have expiring contracts after this season, and both haven’t exactly lived up to their “hype”.
Villanueva has played in one game for the Pistons this season, and Stuckey is averaging 26.4 minutes and 13.4 points per game. Trading the former does make sense, since he hasn’t been able to crack the rotations and I guess dangling Stuckey while looking for better talent isn’t a bad idea either.
I’m not sure if this report means that the Pistons are “heading into rebuilding mode”, but it just makes sense to re-arrange a few pieces if possible at this point.
Especially after their 4-6 start to the season.
