And another rumored deal trickles in.
Earlier this week, it was rumored that the Houston Rockets and Philadelphia 76ers could be chatting out a deal that would send Omer Asik to the Sixers in exchange for Thad Young + other pieces. Now it is rumored that the Cleveland Cavaliers could be entering the Asik sweepstakes.
I don’t like the deal for Anderson Varejao better than the Thad Young one, but I find it just as intriguing. Varejao would be a good sidekick to Howard, plus, he adds that intangible(s) factor — the type of player that every championship team needs.
Varejao’s contract is only partially guaranteed next season, so it also makes sense money-wise.
The Rockets have been adamant that they want to make a deal during the Dec. 15 through 19 window. They’re determined to make it happen, and it appears that a deal could happen within a week.
Stay tuned, Rockets fans. This drama could be over soon.
