According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, the Denver Nuggets are set to announce that Danilo Gallinari will miss the remainder of the season due to reconstructive ACL surgery.
This is Gallinari’s second knee surgery in roughly six and a half months. Back in June, it was reported by the AP that Galo had surgery. However, that surgery was to fix his meniscus and not his ACL.
"[Yahoo]Shortly after suffering the knee injury in an April 4 game against the Dallas Mavericks, Gallinari had surgery to repair a torn meniscus but the ACL reconstruction was delayed. There had been a belief on the doctor’s part that the ACL could be strengthened to play again without the traditional procedure, but that never happened, sources said."
Gallinari averaged 16 points and five rebounds last season for the Nuggets. He had yet to play a game this season.
