According to reports, the Memphis Grizzlies and the Minnesota Timbewolves are discussing a deal that would send Chase Budinger and J.J. Barea to the Grizzlies in exchange for Tayshaun Prince.

Sources tell Adrian Wojnarowski that Tony Allen could be worked into the deal as well, if needed.

"[YAHOO]Memphis has been furiously trying to unload Prince and the remaining $7.2 million (2013-’14) and $7.7 million (2014-’15) on his contract, league sources said.Minnesota general manager Flip Saunders is believed to want to add defensive toughness to his roster, and that would make Allen a natural to fill the Wolves’ void."

The Timberwolves are also rumored to be interested in Andre Miller, and if they’re willing to give up Barea, it makes sense. Basically, the T-Wolves are willing to take on Prince in order to get their hands on Miller. It’s a pill they’re willing to swallow.

And quite possibly a pill that they’ll need to swallow in order to upgrade their backup point guard position.
