The New York Knicks are in search for adding help in almost every position, but perhaps the biggest need is at the point guard spot.
And that’s exactly what the Knicks are hoping they can upgrade before this thursday’s NBA Trade Deadline comes and goes.
According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, the Knicks are eyeing Atlanta Hawks guard Jeff Teague.
"[Stein via Twitter]Knicks’ focus leading into Thursday trade deadline is upgrading at point guard. And word is a new name intrigues them: Atlanta’s Jeff Teague. There are issues if Knicks make full-on play for Teague, who has right of first refusal on any trade after Hawks matched offer sheet in JulyAlso: Teague not only must approve any trade but also owns long-term deal that slices into Knicks’ projected flexibility for summer of 2015But Knicks said to be investigating all PG options since they’re convinced top target Kyle Lowry is NOT available between now and Thursday"
The Knicks current point guard, Raymond Felton, just hasn’t been getting it done. Felton is averaging a career-low 10.4 point per game, along with one yawn in a huddle per game.
On the flip side, Teague is averaging a career-best 15.6 points and 7.2 assisters per game.
