We sort of knew that this was coming, but in a way we kind of didn’t.
As soon as Danny Granger was traded from the Indiana Pacers to the Philadelphia 76ers, it was obvious that the phrase “buyout” would be in play. And now, according to Jake Pavorsky of Liberty Ballers, the Sixers will indeed buyout Granger, making him a free agent as soon as he clears waivers.
Even though the buyout of Granger was never a sure thing, reports began to surface on where Granger could potentially land once he did get bought out. As expected, the contenders were at the top of the list:
"But if he’s granted his released, and indeed bought out, expect him to pursue contenders such as the Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs and the Oklahoma City Thunder as his top suitors."
If I had to guess, I’d predict that Granger will decide between the Spurs and Heat when it’s all said and done.
