It’s a shame that Danny Granger didn’t have his own TV show to announce his decision, as he was the biggest fish in the February free agency.
Without a TV show, he still made the announcement (or made it be known) Thursday night that he was going to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers for the rest of the season.
His decision was first reported by Candace Buckner of the Indy Star.
Ramona Shelburne and Adrian Wojnarowski both confirmed the report late Thursday night.
Granger is expected to clear waivers Friday afternoon and will likely officially sign with the Clippers at some point over the weekend or early next week.
The Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets and the Chicago Bulls were the other reported “top” suitors for Granger.
The 30-year-old former All-Star was averaging 8.3 points per game with the Indiana Pacers this season.
Granger and the Philadelphia 76ers agreed to a buyout agreement on Wednesday, less than a week after being traded from the Indiana Pacers for Lavoy Allen, Evan Turner and a second round pick.
