If he wants to be, Steve Kerr is pretty much a lock to be the next head coach of the New York Knicks.

Oh, yea. Assuming that the Knicks current coach, Mike Woodson, is fired after this season.

According to Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Jackson is indeed going to pursue Kerr once Woodson is fired after the season is over.

"They’re going to implement a system here – the triangle offense – and Jackson plans to pursue Steve Kerr to come coach the Knicks. Jackson had convinced Kerr to come to Seattle as his coach, league sources told Yahoo Sports, only to have those plans foiled when a purchase agreement with the Sacramento Kings fell apart."

As the report states, Kerr was expected to become the Supersonics head coach, but things fell through so nothing ever leaked. Now, it’s leaking.

Kerr played under Jackson with the Chicago Bulls during 1993 to 1998 seasons and is very familiar with the triangle philosophy, which Jackson wants to bring back.

It seems like a perfect fit, assuming that Kerr can coach and all.
