When it comes to free agents, the Los Angeles Lakers believe that everyone is realistically in play for them. You can only believe what their stance is when it comes to head coaches.

If you can’t, Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times tells us exactly how it is.

"The Lakers’ interview list for a new coach keeps growing. North Carolina Coach Roy Williams was added to it most recently. It’s not the first time Williams will have been approached by the Lakers. He told them in 2004 he was not interested in coaching them after Phil Jackson’s first tour ended with the team."

The Lakers have already been rumored to be interested in Byron Scott, George Karl, Jeff Van Gundy, John Calipari, and Kevin Ollie. And those are the only ones that have been publicly reported. There most definitely will be others.

After all, why not? They’re the Lakers.

Even though they’re probably going to come away with one of these coaches, it just comes off as arrogant. It’s almost like the Dwight Howard situation all over again. With that said, I can’t wait until Kevin Love turns them down next summer.
