The summer of 2014 will likely be the most exciting NBA free agency period since the infamous year of 2010. This is largely due to the current star-studded free agent class, which has the potential to reshape the entire league.
What will become of Miami’s Big-3 of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh? Where will Carmelo Anthony land? Will rising stars like Eric Bledsoe and Lance Stephenson make a splash?
While its always entertaining to predict future signings, its also important to analyze the available players. Using ESPN’s new advanced stat RPM (a derivative of the most predictive metric in basketball), the top ten NBA free agents were ranked according to future productivity. RPM, as well as the age and role of the player, were all factors taken into consideration when compiling this ranking.
Player data was provided by ESPN and RealGM. Both restricted (RFA) and unrestricted free agents (UFA) qualified for the rankings.
