Carmelo Anthony fully intends to flirt with free-agency this summer, and if we’re being honest, probably intends to leave. While undoubtedly a gifted scorer, what hurts Carmelo is his poor effort on the defensive end, which registers as a clear negative by advanced plus/minus variants. At age 30, Melo isn’t getting any better, though a less burdensome system and capable coaching could lead to an increase in his efficiency.
