After months of speculation, the Orlando Magic have traded their prized Arron Afflalo.
Though, it wasn’t for all that you would expect. In fact, one could go all the way to saying that the Magic made a head scratching move. According to Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Magic will be sending Afflalo to the Denver Nuggets for Evan Fournier and the 56th pick in 2014 Draft.
That’s it.
Not only is this a surprising move, mostly because you’d think that the Magic would’ve been able to get more out of a second round pick and Fournier for Afflalo, but because of the timing of the move as well.
It almost feels like this move was forced because “it’s draft day.” The Magic clearly wanted additional picks in this year’s draft, and maybe they have a plan after this move, but it doesn’t look good.
This has bad trade written all over it.
The fallout? I’m sure there are plenty of other teams not named the Nuggets kicking themselves right now.
