Noah Vonleh: Charlotte Hornets

I should start this out by saying I’m not a huge Vonleh fan. I haven’t seen enough of him to really know what you’re going to get. I also don’t think he played enough in college to make an accurate guess at what type of player he’ll be in the NBA. At least that’s how I felt when people were talking about him going third or fourth in the draft. When he fell to the Hornets at the ninth pick, I was all for Charlotte taking him because he fits directly into their system and they need a player like him.

Vonleh is supposed to be the next Chris Bosh. I’ll believe it when I see it, but if he can be 80 percent what Chris Bosh is/was, Vonleh will be a great player in the league. He’s got a good shooting stroke and he’s a great athlete. There were so many steals in the draft this year, but Charlotte definitely got another steal with Vonleh falling to the ninth pick in the draft.

It will be interesting to see what other roster moves Charlotte works out this offseason. They have a ton of cap room, so they could make a splash. However, by adding Vonleh to a core of Kemba Walker, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, and Al Jefferson, I really like the direction the Hornets are headed. For once, Michael Jordan has actually built a decent team in the league. Good for him!
