According to multiple reports, first by Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Washington Wizards and Marcin Gortat have agreed to a five-year, $60 million contract extension.

"Gortat’s extension is comparable to the deal Minnesota gave its center, Nikola Pekovic, a year ago: five years, $60 million."

Gortat averaged 13 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game for the Wizards last season. He was traded from the Phoenix Suns to the Wizards last October on the eve of the 2013-14 NBA season.

Per Woj, the Wizards will now turn their free agent attention to re-signing Trevor Ariza. Reports indicate that Wizards coach Randy Wittman and Ariza met in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

Ariza averaged 14.4 points on 41 percent shooting from distance last season with the Wizards. According to reports, Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles (both Lakers and Clippers), Cleveland, Toronto, Phoenix, Detroit and Miami have shown interest in Ariza so far.
