The Wizards were looking to keep their roster stable by re-signing both center Marcin Gortat and forward Trevor Ariza. They have accomplished one of those, as reported by Yahoo reporter Adrian Wojnarowski.

It was previously reported that the Miami Heat had interest in the Polish big man as they attempt to upgrade their supporting cast around the big 3.

The Wizards get to keep their starting center on a deal that matches what Wolves big man, Nikola Pekovic, received last off-season. Gortat averaged 13.2 PPG, 9.5 RBP, and 1.5 BPG in his first season with Washington. He contributed to their first player berth since the days of Gilbert Arenas running the show there.

They will now set their sights towards bringing back Ariza, which will be difficult.
