3. Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks are currently in a great position to compete in the Western Conference next season. According to ESPN NBA Insider Marc Stein, Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks have agreed to terms on a new three-year contract believed to be in the $30 million range. With this deal, Dirk basically agreed to take a pay cut down to only $10 million per year. The Mavericks traded for center Tyson Chandler and guard Raymond Felton, who can both have immediate impacts for them.

Last season, Dallas was the only team that seemed to give the 2014 NBA Champion San Antonio Spurs any trouble in the playoffs being the only team forcing them to a Game 7. After re-signing Dirk, they no longer have money to offer a max deal, but still do have enough money to add another star caliber player in which they have been active in the pursuit for Anthony. It will be exciting to see if Dallas is content with the roster they have now or will they make another move.
