Nobody actually expects James, Bosh, or Wade to leave Miami, but since they have all opted out of their contracts anything is possible. The only deals that are on the record right now for Miami are Norris Cole, Justin Hamilton, and the as-of-yet unsigned Shabazz Napier. Pat Riley will have his hands full as his main task will be to lure the best basketball player in the world back to Miami as well as building a better team around him. To do so, Riley will have to find guys who are willing to sign for less including Bosh and Wade in order to fill out the roster.
Currently, Miami is sitting on $60.3 million in cap space which is a lot of cap space, but with reports surfacing that James wants a “max deal”, and Bosh wants between $80-90 million it seems difficult to picture how Riley can keep this together. At the end of the day Riley is a genius and there should be no doubt in anyone’s mind that he has something up his sleeve this free agency.
