NBA Free Agency
NBA free agency is off to banging start. While the first day was filled with positioning, day 2 has seen the news pick up a bit along with actual deals being agreed to.
Day 3 carried over the momentum from day 2.
Welcome to today’s NBA free agency roundup:
Carlos Boozer on his way out of Chicago? Per The Chicago Sun-Times.
"A source said Wednesday that Boozer’s departure is a “done deal,” adding that Boozer’s camp already has been informed. There haven’t been any takers on a sign-and-trade for Boozer, and the Bulls also want the money to go in a different direction, whether Carmelo Anthony is in the mix or not.Under the amnesty provision, Boozer still will be paid the $16.8 million he’s due next season, but it won’t count against the salary cap. There was a minority opinion that chairman Jerry Reinsdorf wouldn’t want to pay a player and get nothing in return, but that’s not the case. The Bulls think the time to make a run in the Eastern Conference is now, and that can’t be accomplished with Boozer on the roster."
In the end, it was the Toronto Raptors all along.

Chauncey Billups still have something left in the tank. Per Basketball Insiders.
"“As far as me playing, I feel really good right now for the first time ina long time – in two or three years,” Billups said via Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders. “I know that in the right situation, I can really help a team win. But it would take the right situation. I’m not going to play just to play. I have nothing left to prove and I’ve accomplished everything I wanted to accomplish playing basketball, so it would take the right situation for me to play.“Of course, winning [is the biggest factor]. I’ve always considered myself to be a winner. I want to play for something; I don’t just want to play, I want to play to win. That’s the number one criteria – a team that has championship aspirations. And not just a team that’s saying it, but a team that could possibly do it. As far as my role on the team, I’m going to be 38 years old, so I’m not going to say I need to be a starter or I need to play this amount of minutes or anything. Those are things you kind of carve your way through as camp and the season go on. We would work our way through that and I certainly have no demands on that. I just know that with my health and what I can do, I’ll be able to carve my niche and help, that’s for sure.”"
Pau Gasol wants to re-sign with the Lakers, IF they get Carmelo Anthony. Per The Los Angeles Times.
"“If the Lakers get Carmelo, Pau will stay,” said a person familiar with Gasol’s thinking."
