Danny Granger, SF
New Team: Miami Heat
Did Pat Riley watch Danny Granger play last season? I did, and I don’t understand why they signed him, especially if they were trying to appease LeBron. Granger had every opportunity to make a real impact last season with the Clippers. Doc and co. needed him to hold his own against Kevin Durant and make a few threes and Granger couldn’t do it.
On top of all of that, people actually got excited when Riley brought him to Miami and thought LeBron would want to play with Granger. Of course, I’m talking about crazy people again, but still. The mere fact people think Granger can contribute on a good team amazes me.
In the playoffs last season, Granger made 11 shots in 13 games. 11 shots TOTAL! And, he missed 29 shots. You do the math on whether you think he should be on any team next season, let alone the defending Eastern Conference champs of the last four years. No wonder LeBron went back to Cleveland.
“But, Granger’s contact is only a two-year, $4.2 million deal…”
He shouldn’t have been offered anything by a team expecting to make the playoffs. FACT.
