3. New York

Record (last season): 37-45

Key Addition(s): Jose Calderon, Samuel Dalembert, Cleanthony Early

Key Loss: Tyson Chandler, Raymond Felton

The Knicks are a strange team. I don’t know if they’re going to be a dark horse to win the division, or if they’re just going to be dark. New York is one of those teams is essentially a coin flip. The fact that Phil Jackson is running things, though, makes me believe that they’ll probably be a bit better than most are going to project them.

Carmelo Anthony is back and the addition of Jose Calderon is an upgrade over the loss of Felton. Sure, the Knicks are going to miss Chandler but they weren’t playing much defense last season anyways.

I have the Knicks at No. 3 in the division right now, but they’re the kind of team that I could have at No. 2 or even No. 1 in a week or two.
