The dirty little secret of the 2011 NBA Draft is that Isaiah Thomas, the last player drafted in the second round, is better then the overall number one pick Kyrie Irving. This is primarily due to the fact that much like Lillard, Isaiah came into the league as a fairly complete player. He’s a reliable three-point shooter, can run an offense, and has shown he can increase his usage without sacrificing efficiency.

Unfortunately, like Lillard, Isaiah Thomas is a poor defender, and at the diminutive size of 5’9, its unclear if he’ll ever significantly improve.  That being said, Thomas is a promising young guard. The only question is if he’ll be able to show it, now that he’s sharing the ball with Goran Dragic and Eric Bledsoe.
