Sometimes the name(s) isn’t all too unknown; it’s their game that is. It takes the NBA public — its fans — by surprise. They have breakout performances that no one saw coming. That’s the beauty of the NBA, though.
At any given time, in this instance year, any one player can make a name for himself — and a few million along the way. In the past few seasons alone, we’ve seen the likes of Damian Lillard and Isaiah Thomas do that. We’ve seen Anthony Davis make tremendous strides in one single summer. We also had the luxury of seeing young rookies make a name for themselves from day one. Last year, it was Michael Carter-Williams and Victor Oladipo — drawing comparisons to some of the NBA’s elite.
Who will it be this season? We don’t know.
But here’s a prediction for each NBA team’s breakout player for 2014-15.
