Emmanuel Mudiay, PG, China
Vitals: 18 years, 6’5”, 200 lbs
Unlike many high school basketball players in America, Emmanuel Mudiay opted to pass on the collegiate level, and chose to join the Chinese Basketball Association instead.
Many scouts thought this move could deeply hurt Mudiay’s NBA Draft stock, but so far he’s continued to impress in the early going, averaging 19.5 points, 6.6 assists and 6.3 rebounds in six games.
Other than Duke big man Jahlil Okafor, Mudiay is the consensus No. 1 pick, and the top point guard in several mock drafts, including nbadraft.net, hoopshype.com and Bleacher Report.
Where he winds up on draft night will boil down to how well he plays for the rest of the regular season, however, it would be shocking to see him slip out of the top-10, given his increasing skill set and long term potential.
