Two of the NBA’s best — Memphis and Houston — headlined the night for a key early season battle.
Though, in the end, it was more of a one-sided affair. The Grizzlies made a resounding statement Monday night, as they dropped the Houston Rockets back into their place in the way of a 26-point beatdown.
Elsewhere in the NBA, the Dallas Mavericks continued to flex its muscle against the Charlotte Hornets, while Cleveland — with a sick LeBron James — fell at the hands of the struggling Denver Nuggets.
The Suns edged the C’s and the Heat gritted out a win — without Dwyane Wade, Josh McRoberts and Luol Deng — against the Nets. The Magic topped the Pistons, Spurs beat the 76ers and the Blazers and Bulls closed the night with victories out on the west coast.
