The Clippers Are Thankful For: Steve Ballmer’s Arrival with an Assist From Adam Silver

The Clippers are as good as they’ve ever been and look poised to make a legitmate run at the NBA title this season thanks to the abundance of talent at their disposal.

However, it is not their loaded roster or top-notch head coach that the team and fans should be thankful for.

They should be thankful for Steve Ballmer and Adam Silver for playing an integral part in helping the franchise transition from the contentious and disgraceful Donald Sterling era.

Thanks to Silver’s proactive approach during the Donald Sterling fiasco, the Clippers were able to be sold (for a hefty amount) relatively quickly. If being sold in such a short amount of time wasn’t good enough, the Clippers were purchased by Ballmer, who is an enthusiastic and a more player-friendly owner than Sterling could have ever been.

Regardless of what happens on the court this season, I think it’s safe to say that Ballmer and Silver have been great for the Clippers and the NBA.
