The Spurs Are Thankful For: Gregg Popovich’s Consistency
With a team that has won five championships in the last quarter of a decade, there is a lot of things to appreciate and be thankful for, but the one thing that has always shined through for the Spurs during this run has been head coach Gregg Popovich.
Though his sideline interviews leave a lot to be desired, his job shaping his strategies to fit constant roster changes has been nothing less of brilliant. Popovich has always won with his core “Big 3” in Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker and Tim Duncan, but his role players have changed from Bruce Bowen, to Robert Horry, to Danny Green, which shows it just doesn’t matter who’s there, as long as Pop is there.
The Spurs’ coach of 18-years has been the most integral part of an organization full of excellence, that’s something worth being thankful for.
