The rest of the NBA has really taken advantage of the first handful of games this season in order to beatup on the undermanned Oklahoma City Thunder. And I’m pretty sure more than a handful of the NBA enjoyed it, especially after the beatings they’ve had to endure during the last few seasons at the hands of OKC. However, that will soon end.
Last Friday, the Thunder welcomed back Russell Westbrook as they knocked the Knicks into next week with a 27-point beatdown. Soon, they’ll also return the second best player in the NBA, and in the entire world — Kevin Durant.
And then it’ll begin — the Thunder’s road back to the top of the Western Conference.
Currently, OKC is four games out (in the loss column) to the No. 8 seeded Phoenix Suns. In the NBA’s Northwest division, they’re eight games back of the division-leading Portland Trail Blazers.
In a phrase, the Thunder have their work cut out for them. And it’s going to be fun to watch how it all shakes out.
In any case, here are this week’s NBA power rankings.
