Power Forward Predicament

There’s no question Josh McRoberts has been dearly missed by the Charlotte Hornets ever since he left via free agency.

The power forward was such an effective weapon in the starting lineup last season, providing adept passing, three point shooting and more importantly, floor spacing for a team that’s not filled with with many capable perimeter threats.

Now all the Hornets have is an absolute mess of a rotation at the power forward position, and it’s a mystery which of their big men is best suited to start full-time.

First there’s Marvin Williams, a player that only shoots from long distance and struggles to defend well at his position. Then there’s Cody Zeller, a sophomore that’s more of an inside threat if anything and appears to be more comfortable playing at the center position. Lastly there’s Noah Vonleh, a relatively raw rookie who’s years away from being a major contributor.

Whoever they go with, it’s clear they need to acquire a better power forward before it’s too late, especially if they continue losing at this rapid of a rate.

There’s surely a few players that could assist this team and make an impact right away, it’s just up to management to find the right deal.
