2010 NBA Draft: Round 1, Pick 12
Xavier Henry just can’t catch a break.
After disappointing campaigns with both the Grizzlies and Pelicans, the former Kansas product had somewhat of a breakout year with the Lakers last season, posting career-highs in points, field goal percentage and assists before going down with a torn ligament in his left wrist.
During the offseason, Los Angeles opted to reward Henry with another 1-year deal, but he’s been sidelined ever since, most recently suffering a torn left Achilles that will keep him out for the remainder of the 2014-2015 season.
With nothing else to show for other than one promising year of play, Henry may have trouble garnering interest during the free agency period.
It’s too bad cause he really had a chance to revitalize his career in Los Angeles, but instead will have to cross his fingers and hope one more team will give him a shot.
