NBA: Top 10 Early Season MVP Candidates

6 of 11

6. Stephen Curry

Stats: 23.1 points, 7.6 assists, 5.1 rebounds

Making the case: 29 games into the season, some people are crowning the Golden State Warriors as the best team in the NBA. Although they have the best record, they won’t be able to keep the No. 1 seed for an entire 82 game season.

They have only lost five games this season, and it’s mainly due to the play of Stephen Curry. Arguably the best point guard in this early season, he’s been lights out, torching teams with 23 points per game.

Although it’s not his fault, the only reason why he’s not higher on this list is because they played 19 of their 29 games against teams that are .500 or worse.

Next: Marc Gasol
