The San Antonio Spurs flip a switch once a year, usually. Last season, on a rare occasion, their switch was flipped on for the entire season. This season, however, they are finally beginning their trek up our NBA power rankings.
That means one thing, and one thing only: the Spurs have officially flipped that switch. It’s that time of the year, when the veteran teams officially wake of from the hangover from the previous season and begin to realize that the NBA playoffs are just around the corner. And the Spurs are doing just that.
Since the new calendar year, the Spurs are 6-2. But it’s not just that. The Spurs are also beginning to get healthy. Kawhi Leonard, who had missed 17 of the team’s last 19 games, made his return to the team just a few days ago and has played in the team’s last two games.
Health is making its return, the Spurs are winning again.
